News ContenPrime Minister Narendra Modi is now holding talks with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in New Delhi. During the talks, both leaders will review the progress achieved in bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest. Several agreements are also expected to be signed. Both leaders will also release a special postal stamp.
Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj
Earlier today, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj called on the visiting dignitary. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said in a tweet that both leaders discussed ways to strengthen co-operation in energy, connectivity, IT, education, culture and people-to-people contact.
The Iranian President was accorded a Ceremonial Reception at Rashtrapati Bhawan. He also visited Rajghat to pay tributes to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.
Mr Rouhani will meet President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu later today.
The Iranian President, who is on three-day visit to India, arrived in New Delhi last night after his stay in Hyderabad. t
